Dear fellow travelers,
One of my best friends recently traveled to Portugal and came back with
all these amazing stories about the picturesque nature and the great hospitality of the locals. Visiting Portugal has been a dream of mine for quite some time now and so I did some research on travel options. This is what I found:
Travelling to Portugal in January might sound a bit odd to some. But if you think about it, this way you will have the opportunity to visit the country without all the tourists craze during high season. Furthermore, with its 8 degrees on average in January, Porto offers a fantastic breath of spring in the middle of Europe's freezing winter.

Getting there
Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from Bulgaria to
Portugal. I found a relatively convenient connection through Hahn (I say
relatively because there is one night layover in Germany, but it is still worth
it)
Monday, January 21
Sofia (SOF) – Frankfurt Hahn (HHN)
Please note that the price is in BGN and that a Wizz
Xclusive discount applies. Price without discount is given below (normal
price).
*All Airplane prices as of Nov 12, 2012, 1:00 am.
Frankfurt Hahn (HHN) – Porto (OPO)
From the Airport to Porto
You can use the underground services – the Purple Line (E)
connects the Airport to the city center. The ride takes about 40 minutes.
Price: about 4 EUR
The bus lines 601, 602, 604 can also take you to the center
of Porto. Keep in mind, however, that the length of the trip depends on the traffic.
Price: about 1.50 EUR
